The Story Behind Garden Infuzions

Garden Infuzions didn’t begin with olive oil.

It started with candy.

Before creating their first infused oil, Tom and his wife Kim were running a small business producing freeze-dried candy. At the time, freeze-dried sweets were still relatively new and gaining attention at craft shows and specialty stores. Using their freeze dryers, they produced candy that quickly became popular at local events and retail shops.

For a while, the business thrived.

But as freeze-dried candy exploded in popularity, the market soon became oversaturated. What had once been a unique product was suddenly everywhere, and Tom began looking for the next opportunity.

Around that time, the couple visited a local olive oil and balsamic tasting shop. While browsing the store, Tom noticed something immediately.

Kim was captivated.

“She was like a kid in a candy store,” Tom recalls. “Her eyes lit up tasting all the different oils and vinegars.”

In that moment, Tom’s entrepreneurial instincts kicked in.

If flavored oils could inspire that kind of excitement, he believed there was an opportunity to create something even more creative and flavor-forward.

Tom began researching olive oils, herbs, spices, infusion techniques, and culinary flavor combinations. Soon the experimentation started.

The very first successful creation was an unusual one.

Inspired by the iconic sandwich, the blend captured savory flavors of peppers, onions, herbs, and spices in a culinary oil designed to be used for cooking.

That first experiment sparked something bigger.

From that point forward, Tom began creating new blends constantly—experimenting with global cuisines, classic comfort foods, herbs, and spices.

Tom quickly earned the nickname “The Herb Nerd,” developing countless flavor combinations and experimenting with ingredients to build bold, unique infused oils.

But every blend goes through one final and very important step.

Kim is known as “The Palate.”

She tastes every blend to make sure the flavor balance is just right. Only the oils that meet her standards are bottled, labeled, and offered for sale.

What started as one creative experiment soon turned into dozens of blends.

Dozens became hundreds.

Today, Garden Infuzions offers more than 200 infused olive oil blends, with approximately 95% of the flavors being original formulations created in-house.

Each oil is designed to be used throughout the cooking process—whether for marinating, cooking, baking, salad dressings, or charcuterie boards—helping home cooks transform everyday meals with bold flavor.

What began as a moment of inspiration in a small tasting shop has grown into a culinary brand driven by creativity, experimentation, and a passion for flavor.

And it all started with one idea:
