Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 1 1/2 pounds fresh green beans trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons Roasted Onion & Garlic Infused Olive Oil Blend
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese optional
  • 2 tablespoons sliced almonds toasted, optional

Equipment

  • 1 Large pot For blanching the green beans
  • 1 Large skillet Wide enough to sauté the beans in a single layer
  • 1 Colander For draining the beans
  • 1 Mixing bowl For the ice bath
  • 1 Tongs or spatula For tossing and serving

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and blanch the green beans for 2 minutes. Drain and transfer the beans to a bowl of ice water, then drain again and pat dry.
  2. Heat the Roasted Onion & Garlic Infused Olive Oil Blend and butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 30 to 45 seconds, just until fragrant.
  3. Add the green beans, salt, and black pepper, then sauté for 4 to 6 minutes, tossing often, until the beans are crisp-tender and lightly coated.
  4. Stir in the lemon juice and lemon zest, then cook for 30 seconds more so the flavor settles into the pan.
  5. Transfer to a serving dish and finish with Parmesan and toasted almonds if using. Serve warm.

Notes

For the best texture, keep the beans crisp-tender instead of soft. If you want a softer finish, sauté them a minute or two longer before adding the lemon. The Parmesan and almonds are optional, but they add a nice savory finish and crunch.

Recipe Tips

Trim the green beans evenly so they cook at the same pace, and keep the sauté moving so the garlic turns fragrant without browning too quickly. A quick toss with lemon zest at the end brightens the whole pan.

Serving Suggestions

Serve these green beans next to roasted chicken, grilled fish, baked salmon, or a simple pasta dinner. They also work well on a holiday table or alongside a casual weekend supper.

Storage

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat gently in a skillet over low heat or in the microwave until warmed through.

Variations

Add sliced almonds for extra crunch, finish with grated Parmesan for a more savory edge, or toss in a pinch of red pepper flakes if you want a little heat.
