Instructions
- 1. Preheat a grill or large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the bacon until crisp; transfer it to a paper towel-lined plate.
- 2. In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, black pepper, and 1 tablespoon of the Missouri Kansas City Sweet & Smokey BBQ Infused Olive Oil Blend. Form into 4 equal patties.
- 3. Brush the patties lightly with the remaining blend just before cooking, then grill or sear for 3 to 5 minutes per side, until the burgers reach your preferred doneness.
- 4. During the last minute of cooking, top each patty with a slice of cheddar cheese and cover briefly so it melts.
- 5. Toast the buns cut-side down until golden. Stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard in a small bowl.
- 6. Build each burger with sauce, lettuce, tomato, a cheeseburger patty, bacon, and sliced red onion. Serve right away while hot and juicy.
Notes
For the best burger texture, mix the beef just enough to combine and avoid packing it too tightly. If the bacon is very salty, taste before adding extra salt to the patties. The featured blend adds smoky barbecue character to both the meat and the toasted buns, so keep the rest of the toppings simple and fresh.
