Instructions
- Heat the Pierogi Infused Olive Oil Blend and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until the butter melts and starts to foam.
- Add the sliced onion and cook, stirring often, until softened and deeply golden, about 12 to 15 minutes.
- Stir in the mushrooms, salt, and black pepper, then cook until the mushrooms are browned and any liquid has cooked off, about 6 to 8 minutes.
- Transfer the onion and mushroom mixture to a plate.
- Add the frozen pierogies to the same skillet in a single layer and cook until browned on both sides and heated through, adding a little extra oil if the pan looks dry.
- Return the onions and mushrooms to the skillet and toss gently to coat.
- Stir together the sour cream, water, and lemon juice in a small bowl, then drizzle over the pierogies or serve on the side.
- Finish with fresh dill and green onions, then serve warm.
Notes
Frozen pierogies vary by brand, so watch the skillet and add a touch more oil if needed to keep the browning even. If the onions are cooking too fast, lower the heat so they turn sweet instead of scorching. For a richer finish, keep a little extra sour cream on the side. The Pierogi Infused Olive Oil Blend brings onion, garlic, dill, and herb notes that make the dish feel built from the same comfort-food language as the filling itself.
