Preheat the Oven (5 minutes):
- Preheat your oven to 375°F. Lightly grease a baking dish with 1 tablespoon of NY Pizza Blend Olive Oil.
Cook the Sausage Mixture (10 minutes):
- Heat 1 tablespoon of NY Pizza Blend Olive Oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sautéing until soft. Stir in the crumbled Italian sausage, cooking until browned. Drain excess fat if needed.
Prepare the Filling (5 minutes):
- In a mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage, rice, marinara sauce, 1/2 cup mozzarella, salt, black pepper, and basil. Mix until evenly combined.
Stuff the Peppers (5 minutes):
- Spoon the sausage mixture into the prepared bell peppers, packing it in gently. Place the stuffed peppers upright in the baking dish.
Bake and Finish (25 minutes):
- Drizzle the remaining NY Pizza Blend Olive Oil over the peppers. Bake for 20 minutes, then sprinkle the tops with the remaining mozzarella. Bake for another 5 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
