- Pat the chicken drumsticks dry with paper towels.
- Preheat a smoker to 275°F using hickory or apple wood.
- In a small bowl, mix the kosher salt, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and brown sugar.
- Rub the drumsticks all over with the Missouri Kansas City Sweet & Smokey BBQ Infused Olive Oil Blend, then coat them evenly with the spice mixture.
- Arrange the drumsticks on the smoker grates and cook for 35 minutes.
- Stir the barbecue sauce, apple cider vinegar, and water together in a small bowl.
- Brush the drumsticks with the sauce mixture and continue smoking for 12 to 15 minutes, until the skin is browned and the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
- Rest the drumsticks for 5 minutes before serving with extra sauce on the side.
Notes
For a little extra smoke character, cook over indirect heat and avoid opening the lid too often. The glaze goes on near the end so it stays glossy and doesn't scorch.
