Let us know how it was!Recipe Tips
Cut the chicken into even pieces so it cooks steadily in the simmering sauce. Stir the spice base well after adding the tomatoes so nothing catches on the bottom of the pan. If the sauce looks too thick, add a splash of water or stock until it loosens to your liking. Finish with the blend at the end so its flavor stays vivid in the finished dish.
Serving Suggestions
Serve this tarkari over steamed basmati rice, with warm flatbread, or spooned beside lentils and a simple salad. It also works nicely in a family-style dinner spread with extra sauce on the side.
Storage
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Reheat gently on the stove or in the microwave with a small splash of water if the sauce has thickened. For best texture, keep the rice or bread separate until serving.
Variations
Use boneless chicken thighs for a richer result, or swap in cauliflower and chickpeas for a plant-based version. You can also add carrots, peas, or green beans to stretch the dish a little farther and give the sauce more color.
