Ingredients

Ingredients
  • 8 ounces angel hair pasta
  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 3 tablespoons Basil Infused Olive Oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons reserved pasta water plus more as needed

Equipment

  • 1 Large pot For boiling the pasta
  • 1 Large skillet Wide enough to cook shrimp in a single layer
  • 1 Colander For draining pasta
  • 1 Microplane or zester For the lemon zest
  • 1 Tongs For tossing the pasta and shrimp

Method

Instructions
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the angel hair pasta until just tender, then reserve a little pasta water before draining.
  2. Pat the shrimp dry and season them with salt and black pepper.
  3. Warm the Basil Infused Olive Oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat until the butter melts.
  4. Add the garlic and red pepper flakes and cook just until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  5. Add the shrimp in a single layer and cook until pink and just cooked through, about 2 minutes per side.
  6. Stir in the lemon zest and lemon juice, then add the drained pasta and parsley.
  7. Toss everything together, adding a splash of reserved pasta water as needed to help the sauce coat the noodles.
  8. Finish with Parmesan cheese and serve immediately while warm.

Notes

Angel hair cooks quickly, so keep an eye on the pasta and shrimp to avoid overcooking. If you want a silkier finish, add the pasta to the skillet while the pan is still lightly glossy with oil and butter. The Basil Infused Olive Oil brings a fresh basil-forward finish that makes the dish feel bright and fragrant from the first toss to the last bite.
