Instructions
- 1. In a medium bowl, combine the ground beef, Steakhouse Infused Olive Oil Blend, kosher salt, and black pepper until just mixed. Divide into 4 equal portions and shape into patties slightly wider than the buns.
- 2. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat. If using a skillet, add the butter and cook the onion slices until soft and caramelized at the edges, about 8 to 10 minutes. Move the onions aside and keep warm.
- 3. Cook the patties for 3 to 5 minutes on the first side, then flip and cook 2 to 4 minutes more, depending on thickness and desired doneness. Top each patty with cheddar during the last minute so it melts.
- 4. Toast the buns cut-side down until golden. Spread mayonnaise on the bottom buns and ketchup on the top buns if using.
- 5. Build each burger with lettuce, tomato, a cheeseburger patty, caramelized onions, and pickles. Cap with the top bun and serve right away.
Notes
For the best texture, avoid overworking the beef when mixing. If you want extra smoky flavor, cook the patties on a charcoal grill and finish with the cheddar during the last minute. The caramelized onions can be made ahead and warmed just before serving.
